Get to know IRB: Who Am I?

Hi there! I am Ira but my family calls me Yeng. Isn’t funny? I grew up being called in a name that is far from my real name. But do not get me wrong, I love being called in that way. Anyways, I am a 21-year-old Filipina and the eldest daughter to an Asian family.

I have a lot of hobbies but not limited to writing, listening to music, listening to podcast, reading books, and going to different places. A lot of people always say that I am boring to be with because I do not go to parties, I do not drink alcoholic beverages, and I do not smoke. Yet, I do not mind.

Growing up, my only best of friends are my siblings and cousins. We are always together through our ups and downs, we protect each other no matter what, we do crazy stuffs together and a lot more.

One thing that I hate the most is going to school. It is a hell for me. I cannot breathe the same air as them. It is really suffocating me. Every day, I wish that the classes are suspended, or our teachers have to attend to seminars, trainings, and meetings.

I hate being with crowded place. I hate people in general. At the early age, I already experienced a lot. I got traumatized because of the things that I cannot control. In my case, my confidence that I built for years, slowly vanished in no time. I don’t recognize myself anymore after of everything that they have done to me.

Words are powerful. It can make a big impact on someone’s life. We use it on our daily living. It is one of the tools that we need to express ourselves. There is a different type of person. Some people use this for good, but some are taking an advantage. A lot of us use it without thinking multiple times. At the end, we don't realize that we are already hurting someone.

People should realize how important it is to think before doing a specific action. We should know what will be the consequence of it. Yes, I am an introvert, but I can also be an introvert when I am required to demonstrate my abilities at a significant event.

I was a victim of bullying ever since when I was in grade school. They used to call me in different names because of my eyes and voluptuous body. Now, that I am already an adult. I am trying my best to bring back my confidence. I started attending to bootcamps, workshops, and online webinars in different fields. I believe that I will have the highest return of investments when I will invest in myself.
